              This colorful book that includes aesthetically pleasing pictures, is the answer to all questions about decorating and interior design. Chapter after chapter covers topics about furniture, casual dining, window treatments, wall coverings, accent lighting and so much more. Within the chapters, different sections are included that go into depth about the specific topic, and endless amount of tips for decorating are offered. For example, chapter 3 is all about furniture-- on page 73, there is a "Tricks of the Trade" section that gives the reader additional information on placing orders for an upholstered chair. Everything is elaborated and nothing is overlooked. 

         There are a few quotes that help me develop a better understanding about what interior designing is all about. "Decorating is about being creative-- being bold, taking a risk, trying something new. There's no right or wrong, only what works for you and your home." This talks about what decorating is all about. Expressing yourself through a room and doing it based on what you like. It doesn't matter about the opinion of others. As long as it is what you think looks great and what you appreciate in a space, then that's all that is important. Another quote that is worth mentioning takes my perspective on decorating to a whole other level. "Decorating is an evolution, a never-ending process. Styles change. Taste change. Even families change."  

            This particular source is reliable because it is published by Taunton Home. Taunton Home is known for providing books with a wide range on interior designing as well as projects outdoors. Their other books include 'Kitchen', 'Bathroom', 'Kidspace', 'Built-Ins' and 'Backyard'. This book was also featured in houzz.com and made available for sale on Amazon and Barnes and Noble. I got my hands on this book from the Johnson High School's library, which I know I can always count on that library having the best selctions for their students!

                After reading this book, I know that there are a lot of things I can use to apply this to my everyday life. It has also opened my eyes to a different way of thinking about situations when it comes to decoarting a space. It was also very easy to follow a long and fun to read. It teaches me to be confident in what I believe looks good and that I can be as creative as I possibly can. It teaches me that there is no right or wrong way to do something, as long as I can be comfortable with the choices that I made. Lastly, it teaches me that there is so much to consider when redecorating a room entirley. But it is a fun process. I can use this book in my research project in many ways because it has helped me find what I was searching for. This book was nothing but helpful and I know that I will be referring back to it again.
